A creamy, life-changing dressing!
Krishna vegan dressing is a dressing you can use on just about any thing you eat. As a recent convert to a whole-food plant based diet, I was in pursuit of some good recipes. This dressing is thanks to food warrior, John Joseph. At least, it’s my interpretation of his unofficial recipe. You learn a lot from individuals who stray from the conventional path, especially when it comes to eating. John Joseph is a very inspired dude, who loves to cook it up, all the colors from the rainbow. He’s simple, enthusiastic and I find him often in my head as I cook. The more greens, the more colors you cook with, the better-an obvious fact, yet one we often overlook. But John’s use of this dressing is often on his prized kale salad-he likes to really bathe the kale in the dressing, thus softening the leaves up a bit.
The Krishna guilt-free dressing
But unlike the traditional ‘French’ vendaje, where fat is an issue, the Krishna dressing is on the extreme side of health. A base of cashews, mostaza, kombucha (I can’t locate amino acid liquid that he uses, so I use my own kombucha), and the key flavor factor is the edelheffe, or nutritional yeast. Resulta que, nutritional yeast is a big main-stay for those who eat vegan. It’s loaded with vitamins and minerals, and gives this dressing a nice distinct flavor…more on this topic below.
This particular Krishna vegan dressing is a recipe used in a very dominate vegetarian/vegan culture of the Hari Krishna’s, which are shamanic believers of Hindi. los yogi food they live by in their culture is amazing. It’s the perfect example of food with life, food with color, food with flavor. A diet rich in dried peas, frijoles, coles, grains. Entangled flavors of lovely spices of cumin, coriander, jengibre, turmeric and much more. Rice dishes, Dhal, lovely breads, patatas, verduras, and and and. It’s a form of cooking I’m going to delve deeper in, as I can feel, this is just the beginning for me.
Pero, back to John Joseph. He used this recipe to mix his mouth watering kale salad, and for his lightly steamed broccoli. But really he put it on anything ‘vegetable’. I use it this way too, but I”m finding I’m using this on everything!
The perfect dressing for…
Krishna dressing is the perfect sauce for falafel, veggie burgers, even some fresh cut bread. This is a creamy, smooth sauce that has a very mild, yet strongly appetizing flavor. Brewers yeast, nutritional yeast, o “Edelhefe’ (all the same product) is naturally loaded with the vitamin B’s. It’s naturally high in minerals, and is an excellent contributor for gut health. Adicionalmente, brewer’s yeast is anti-inflammatory, and good for our immune system. De hecho, there are too many benefits to mention.
A lovely discovery to any diet, vegan or non vegan. Más, its the perfect dip for sliced up vegetables like peppers and cucumbers. I’m so happy I’ve found this sauce, as I’ve found it to be almost life changing. Make yourself a nice big batch. Keep it in a stored container in the fridge, as it will keep upwards to a week. Y, don’t be surprised when you can’t keep it stocked in the house, as I’m sure you’re going to love it as much as I do.
