The roots, leaves and flowers of the Marshmallow Plant are used as a source of a mucilage that is moistening, soothing and anti-inflammatory. It’s slightly salty, so used as a diuretic therefore having a soothing effect on kidneys and bladder. Intended to lower fluid retention, edema and bloated stomach. If your diet or hormone levels (such as experiencing PMS or menopause) cause you to retain water and feel uncomfortable, this root can help increase urination and balance fluids.

To make a tea use only the root. Seep the tea over night in cold water, then strain it.
